I am a life-long MA native and live in Andover with my wife Nadine and 2 daughters Elisia and Calia. When I'm not in the office, I keep busy helping assistant coach Elisia’s basketball team, watching Calia at gymnastics and dance and enjoy a night out on the town with Nadine following some of our favorite DJs and bands who play the soul, disco and R&B that we love cutting a rug to. I don’t watch TV shows, but the Boston Celtics are always on from October to May in the LeBranti household. In between the flurry of kids sports and activities, we love exploring some of our favorite places on summer weekends: Castle Rock in Marblehead, MA, where I went often as a child, New York City, to enjoy picnics in Central Park and food at Eataly and Old Orchard Beach, ME where we are lucky enough to enjoy a family beach home and the arcades, rides and a huge candy store in the town center. In winter, you will find us sneaking up to Bretton Woods, NH for ski trips which always includes stopping at the mountain top candy store Chutters to grab a “bag” of candy (I see a theme here).
The LeBranti Family Garden is always an annual highlight, where me and the 3 girls spend a great deal of time preparing the soil and planting vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, red peppers, Italian eggplant, lettuce, herbs and much more. Nothing is better than picking a ripe tomato off a vine and eating it like an apple – Calia’s favorite thing to do! At season end, we pickle the remaining green tomatoes, cucumbers and green beans to be enjoyed all fall and winter (ask me for my recipe). I also spend each January making my own homemade fresh and dry sausage – sometimes 100’s of pounds—that is shared among a few families who work over 2 days to make an amazing finished product. I have also joined one of these families in making home-made red wine, an art I hope to master as I stay connected with my 100% Italian heritage. Fun fact: my paternal grandfather, Joseph LeBranti, who was from Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, was a candy maker and the inventor of Junior Mints(there is that theme again!).
Music is another passion for the LeBranti’s. We spend many evenings in our home gymnastics room, which is our formal living transformed into a “gym”, with bars, beams, rings, rollers and mats – where we often have dance parties and watch routines by Elisia and Calia. We also spend time in the basement playing instruments (I am a self-admitted bass and drum hack) and singing and dancing along to records that I play for the girls – with 3000+ vinyl records to choose from in my collection (which I inherited!!). When not at home enjoying music with the family, I spend time with high school friends at a home studio tinkering with many music forms and can rarely be seen at a few different local establishments playing some vinyl records for others to dance to (fyi: I don’t do weddings).
I graduated from Stonehill College with a BS in Biology in 1998. On track for medical school, with a life-long dream of becoming a doctor and helping others, I realized in my Junior year after interning in the Cardiology unit at NEMC (now Tufts) and watching 2 open heart surgeries (that was so cool!), that medicine did not suit me. Since I still had a desire to help people, I decided that financial planning would be a great profession. Thanks to a life mentor, who I still credit today with much of my personal and professional success, I had the chance to fulfill that desire of helping people and took a job at OneCore in 2000, working under my mentor, as the first stepping stone to building a financial planning practice. At OneCore, I assisted small businesses with their finance needs in regard to cash management, retirement planning and insurance. At our firm now, I head the corporate retirement plan, risk management and client service departments. In 2012, I received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation.
I graduated from Malden Catholic(MC) High School in 1994. If you ask me why I have been blessed with some personal and professional success, I will credit much of it to MC, along with my loving family support and good old-fashioned hard work. I am the Nominating Officer of the MC Alumni Association Board, which I helped to create. Our group sponsors many annual events that help raise money for various scholarships that we award each year, as well as Toys for Tots, where I coordinate donating many toys from the group over the holidays, and Habitat For Humanity, where Dennis and I along with MC students swing a hammer for a great cause a few times a year. Our biggest and newest undertaking is a Mentor Program, (something I hold dear to my heart), and almost 100 MC alums, along with me, have dedicated themselves to the group to be a resource for career advice, internships and a connection to a fellow MC alum who may have had a similar experience or share an interest in a specific industry or field of study. My passion for MC runs deep and I live by the school's motto at home and in business - "Plus Ultra" = More Beyond.
Enough about me…let’s learn about you. I look forward to hearing your story and seeing how we can help you navigate your financial future.
