Community Events

WHEN WE FOUNDED DLFG IN 2010, VOLUNTEERING AND GIVING BACK WAS AN IMPORTANT COMPANY GOAL. WHETHER TRAVELING TO OTHER AREAS OF THE COUNTRY OR VOLUNTEERING RIGHT HERE IN BOSTON, WE SUPPORT MANY ORGANIZATIONS AND MAKE IT A POINT TO SUPPORT CAUSES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO OUR CLIENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY. WE ALSO ENJOY INTERACTING WITH OUR CLIENTS ON A MORE SOCIAL LEVEL AT CHARITABLE AND COMPANY-SPONSORED EVENTS. HERE IS A BRIEF SNAPSHOT OF SOME OF OUR RECENT EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:

Holiday Open House

12pm - 4pm

December 2015

Holiday Open House

Over 40 people dropped by the office and enjoyed some great food and drinks at DLFG’s Annual Open House. It is always great to see everyone during this festive time of year.

The wine tasting portion of the evening seemed to be the big hit in 2015. Dennis and Rich hope to catch up with even more clients at their next Open House. Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a great year!

Bergamot Somerville

12pm - 4pm

October 2015

Bergamot Somerville

Dennis and Rich reserved Bergamot, a highly-acclaimed restaurant in Somerville, MA, for a chef presentation and sit-down lunch. Clients filled the entire restaurant as the chefs showed the crowd how to fillet a Norwegian Salmon.

The crowd then sat down for a delicious, four-course lunch with wine pairing. It was fun and informative, and the salmon was spectacular. Thank you to Servio Garcia and his staff at Bergamot for a job well done!

Habitat for Humanity

12pm - 4pm

April 2015

Habitat for Humanity

The renovation of the former St. Patrick’s convent in Lawrence, MA provided a home for ten lucky families in 2015.  Dennis, Rich, and some clients were part of the 100,000 volunteer hours spent on 100 Parker Street’s transformation.

The Ortiz family (a mother and two daughters) had been chosen to occupy the apartment that the group was renovating. Minor electrical projects and wood floor installation were completed on this particular volunteer day. It was fun and rewarding work. DLFG hopes this ambitious project will be a constant sign of strength in the neighborhood.  Please let Rich or Dennis know if you would like to join in on a future project.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge & Golf Tournament

12pm - 4pm

September 2014

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge & Golf Tournament

Dennis raised ALS awareness by completing the Ice Bucket Challenge and donating to ALS Massachusetts in 2014. He and his family also had a five-year stint of putting together an ALS Golf Tournament in memory of Donald More, a close relative.

Together, they raised over $30,000 for ALS Massachusetts. Dennis’ family has personally witnessed the effects of this degenerative disease and hopes that these golf tournaments, however minor, help support its eventual cure. Take note of Donald More’s picture with Curt Schilling below.

Mason’s Ride & Cape Cod March of Dimes Walk

12pm - 4pm

June 2014

Mason’s Ride & Cape Cod March of Dimes Walk

Dennis and Valerie’s “Team Mason,” comprised of many close family and friends, completed the Cape Cod March of Dimes Walk. The team was a top-10 fundraiser for the March of Dimes Foundation.

Dennis met the team at the finish line after his 90-mile bike ride from Watertown to the Bourne Bridge and everyone enjoyed a beautiful June day along the Cape Cod Canal.   Dennis and Valerie have made the March of Dimes walk a family tradition dedicated to the memory of their son Mason.
