Community Events

WHEN WE FOUNDED DLFG IN 2010, VOLUNTEERING AND GIVING BACK WAS AN IMPORTANT COMPANY GOAL. WHETHER TRAVELING TO OTHER AREAS OF THE COUNTRY OR VOLUNTEERING RIGHT HERE IN BOSTON, WE SUPPORT MANY ORGANIZATIONS AND MAKE IT A POINT TO SUPPORT CAUSES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO OUR CLIENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY. WE ALSO ENJOY INTERACTING WITH OUR CLIENTS ON A MORE SOCIAL LEVEL AT CHARITABLE AND COMPANY-SPONSORED EVENTS. HERE IS A BRIEF SNAPSHOT OF SOME OF OUR RECENT EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:

Chemo Caps Drop Off

12pm - 4pm

April 2018

Special thanks to the Dennis-Yarmouth Charitable Knitting Group for knitting these caps. They are awesome, especially the ones with the animals on top. We were just happy to be a small part of the process and delivered them to the right people at Dana Farber Children’s Cancer Center.

It’s pretty emotional walking around 450 Brookline Ave. We are lucky to have such great people in Boston working for a cure. Please feel free to share this video with your friends and family. Seeing these hats is sure to put a smile on their face!

Credit for Life Senior Day

12pm - 4pm

March 2018

Credit for Life Senior Day

Rich had the opportunity to volunteer in March 2018 for the Credit 4 Life Fair held at NSCC for Danvers High School Seniors. The Credit 4 Life Fair gave the seniors a hands-on lesson in the basics of budgeting, a glimpse at the challenges they will face in the “real world,” reinforced the importance of maintaining good credit, and demonstrated how life decisions will impact their finances.

Rich also ran into longtime friend Chris Bevilacqua who was also volunteering! It was a great day all around and all volunteers were so impressed with the many smart, engaging and polite seniors who took this exercise so serious. Great way to get these young adults ready for the future!

2017 Holiday Open House & Toy Drive

12pm - 4pm

December 2017

Thank you to everyone who supported our Toys for Tots drive this year and joined us at our Holiday Open House. We welcomed many guests and were blown away by the generosity of our clients and friends.

We were able to drop off over 60 toys to MC and help hand out toys the following day at St. Mary's in Winchester. Take a peek at the video below documenting the Open House, toy drop of at MC and then our volunteer day in Winchester. We are so thankful to have such amazing friends and clients. Happy Holidays!

Big Sister Fundraiser

12pm - 4pm

November 2017

DLFG sponsored the Big Sister of Greater Boston Tasting Event at Dorchester Brewing in November and helped raise over $12,000 to support enrichment and mentoring programs for local girls.

Rich’s wife Nadine is on the Board of Big Sister Young Professional Group and helps with their fundraising efforts, and Dennis’ wife Valerie has been a Big Sister to a local teen for 10+ years, making the night even more meaningful.

Thank you to all the friends that attended. Dorchester Brewing has some quality brews that made for a nice visit as well. Enjoy the video below for some fun photos from the night!

Habitat for Humanity Lawrence

12pm - 4pm

November 2017

Rich and Dennis joined 5 other volunteers in renovating a multifamily home on Mason Street in Lawrence in November for Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity.

They painted, cut wood, cleaned, sanded, and helped put the finishing touches on the outdoor stairs. Rich taught Dennis how to simultaneously strip a screw with a drill, while simultaneously fielding work calls :)

They were lucky to escape with all their fingers and toes intact. Thanks to all the volunteers that continually support the efforts of a great organization. The home is scheduled for 2017 completion and will house two families from Greater Lawrence.
